Convert documentation websites, GitHub repositories, and PDFs into Claude AI skills. Provides tools for scraping, analyzing, and managing documentation sources.
The Skill Seekers MCP server defines 3 tools with clear verb-based naming (generate_config, list_configs, validate_config). All tools have descriptions and input schemas present. However, there are consistent gaps in parameter descriptions, missing output schema documentation, and limited error handling guidance. The tools follow a coherent single-responsibility pattern (config management), but descriptions could be more LLM-optimized and several parameters lack constraints or expected formats. Parameter naming is reasonable but could benefit from explicit type suffixes.
Generate a config file for documentation scraping. Interactively creates a JSON config for any documentation website with default selectors and sensible defaults. The config can be further customized after creation.
List all available preset configurations. Scans the configs directory and lists all available config files with their basic information (name, URL, description).
Validate a config file for errors. Validates both legacy (single-source) and unified (multi-source) config formats. Checks for required fields, valid URLs, proper structure, and provides detailed feedback on any issues found.
Missing output schema documentation for all tools. LLMs cannot plan downstream operations without knowing what fields to expect (e.g., does list_configs return URLs, descriptions, timestamps, file sizes?). This forces agents to blindly call tools and parse unstructured responses.
Parameter descriptions are present but lack format constraints and actionable guidance. 'name' parameter says 'lowercase, alphanumeric, hyphens, underscores' but should specify min/max length, regex pattern, or examples of VALID names. 'url' says 'must include http:// or https://' but doesn't clarify what happens with invalid URLs (validation error? stored anyway?). 'max_pages' defaults to 100 but no guidance on why or when to override.
No error handling or recovery guidance in any tool description. What happens if a config file is malformed JSON? If validation fails, what are the next steps? If scraping is cancelled, can the user resume? Tool descriptions do not categorize errors as retryable, user-fixable, or fatal.

generate_config has mutually exclusive parameters ('unlimited' overrides 'max_pages') but this dependency is not clearly stated in parameter descriptions. LLMs may pass both and expect different behavior.
list_configs has no parameters but description says it 'scans the configs directory', it's unclear if it takes filtering options (by skill type, URL pattern, status). If filtering is not supported, the description should explicitly say 'returns ALL configs; no filtering available'.
