GlassyPic MCP server transforms raw images into production-ready assets in one workflow: resize, crop, compress, convert file formats, upscale, and generate SEO-friendly filenames and alt text
Strong tool definitions with comprehensive schemas and descriptions. optimize_image is exceptionally well-documented with detailed parameter constraints and output documentation. All tools have clear descriptions exceeding the 20-character minimum. Input schemas are properly defined using Zod with type constraints. However, some parameter descriptions could be more concise (pattern:tool-description recommends 10-1024 chars; optimize_image description is ~650 chars). Minor gaps: login, logout, status, upgrade tools lack output schemas entirely. The server follows verb_noun naming conventions well and provides dependency hints (e.g., 'Use status tool to check remaining credits before batch processing').
Log in to your GlassyPic account via browser to unlock more credits. Opens a browser window where you complete login (Google, Facebook, or email). After login, MCP automatically picks up your account with shared credits across web and MCP. Registered accounts receive a larger credit allowance than guest sessions; use the status tool to read the account's actual tier and remaining credits. Your access token and email are stored locally at ~/.glassypic/session.json (file mode 0600) until you run logout.
Log out of your GlassyPic account. Reverts to guest session (20 free credits/day). Your web app account is not affected.
Optimize an image: smart lossy compression (typically 60-80% size reduction), optional resize/upscale/format conversion, and AI-generated SEO metadata. Accepts absolute local file paths or remote URLs. In remote/API mode, only remote URLs are supported. Supported input formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, SVG, ICO, HEIC, TIFF, BMP (max 50 MB). Supported output formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, SVG, ICO. Guest (unregistered): 20 credits/day, no signup. Log in with the login tool for more credits — registered Free tier is 30/day. Use status tool to check remaining credits before batch processing.
Check your account status: logged-in status, tier, credit allowance, and remaining credits. Useful before batch processing to avoid credit exhaustion. Unregistered (guest) accounts get 20 free credits/day; registered Free tier gets 30/day; use login tool to upgrade tier and unlock more credits.
Four tools (login, logout, status, upgrade) have no documented output schemas. LLMs cannot infer what fields to expect or plan downstream operations.
optimize_image description is ~650 characters, exceeding the recommended 10-1024 character range. While informative, it is token-inefficient and could be condensed by moving detailed credit/format/capability information to parameter descriptions.
The _gif_temp_file_id parameter is marked as internal implementation detail. This violates the principle that tool parameters should match the agent's mental model. Internal temp file IDs should be handled server-side via session state, not exposed as LLM-facing parameters.

View GlassyPic pricing plans and upgrade your account. Opens browser to glassypic.com/pricing. Free tier includes 30 credits/day; Pro tier includes 3,300/month and priority support. Use the login tool first to unlock paid tier.
optimize_image has 12 parameters, placing it at p90 of the distribution. The gif_frame_limit and confirm_gif_cost parameters could be wrapped into a single GIF processing options object to reduce cognitive load and simplify the parameter interface.
login and upgrade tools open a browser window but have no documented return value. LLMs cannot determine success or extract authentication tokens. login should return a success confirmation and remaining credits.
