A WP-CLI package that provides AI-powered command execution using Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Allows users to interact with an LLM using MCP tools from WordPress, WP-CLI, and configured external MCP servers.
This MCP server has significant definition quality gaps. While tool names follow verb_noun conventions and some schema structure is present, descriptions are largely generic or missing, parameter documentation is incomplete, and output schemas are undocumented. The wp_cli_* tool family presents particular challenges: dynamic schema generation with empty properties object and vague descriptions make it difficult for LLMs to understand what parameters are actually available. The mcp_server_* tools have better structure but still lack depth in parameter descriptions and output documentation. Error handling guidance is minimal. This server would not pass production code review for an agent toolkit.
Add a new MCP server to the list for use with the wp ai command.
Lists available MCP servers configured for use with the wp ai command.
Remove one or more MCP servers from the configuration.
Update an MCP server configuration.
Dynamic tools generated from all registered WP-CLI commands. Each WP-CLI command is exposed as an MCP tool with its synopsis parameters mapped to the tool's input schema.
wp_cli_* tool has empty input schema with dynamic properties marked as '{}', LLM cannot determine available parameters or their types before execution. Dynamic schema generation is not visible in source code, only inferred.
wp_cli_* description is vague ('Dynamic tools generated from all registered WP-CLI commands...') and does not explain WHAT each command does, WHEN to use it, or what the LLM should expect in the response. LLMs cannot select this tool confidently.
Output schemas are not documented for any tool. LLMs do not know what fields to expect in responses, making downstream tool composition and field extraction error-prone.

Parameter descriptions are incomplete or generic. E.g., 'name' in mcp_server_add lacks context about naming conventions, length limits, or allowed characters. 'server' parameter lacks guidance on distinguishing URLs from command strings.
mcp_server_remove tool has conflicting required parameters: 'name' and 'all' are both optional yet mutually exclusive. If neither is provided, the tool errors. Schema does not express this dependency, LLM may pass both or neither without warning.
Error handling provides no recovery guidance. wp_cli_* commands may fail for myriad reasons (permission denied, invalid arguments, command not found) but no error classification or next-step guidance is documented.
mcp_server_remove accepts a variadic 'name' parameter (string, not array) but code comment says 'One or more servers to remove', schema does not support multiple values in a single parameter. Ambiguous to LLM.
Destructive operations (mcp_server_remove with --all, wp_cli_* for destructive commands) lack explicit risk annotation. No indication that these are irreversible or that dry-run/confirmation is available.
