MCP server for Verilex Data — 20 datasets including NPI, SEC, OFAC sanctions, whale tracking, DEX trades, Polymarket signals, economic indicators, and more. Pay-per-query with USDC via x402.
The server presents 28 tools across 7 domains (company intelligence, contracts, crypto, DEX, economic indicators, token holders, address labels). All tools have descriptions (194-char baseline met), and input schemas are visible with type definitions and constraints. Naming follows verb_noun convention (query_*, search_*, lookup_*, get_*). However, output schemas are not documented, the code shows tools delegate to an HTTP API via apiGet() but the response structure is inferred only from descriptions. Parameter descriptions are good but could be more specific about dependencies (e.g., which signal_types are available in trader_signals). Error handling delegates to the backend API with staleness warnings but lacks recovery guidance in tool descriptions. Tool composition is reasonable, but some tools overlap conceptually (query_protocol_risk + query_network_stress + query_cohort_critical all target DeFi risk from different angles, clarity on when to use each would help). The Zod schema registration pattern is used correctly (seen in company.ts), validating inputs before API calls.
Get a unified company profile across all Verilex datasets. Searches by ticker symbol, SEC CIK number, or company name. Returns SEC filings, OTC data (shell risk, financials), patent portfolio, trademark registrations, and court cases — all in one response. This is the premium cross-dataset intelligence endpoint.
Get statistics about the government contracts dataset: total awards, agencies covered, date range, and data source information. Free endpoint.
Get statistics about the crypto intelligence dataset: total signals, total executions, networks and protocols active, date range. Free endpoint. Source: Liquidationbot multi-chain telemetry.
Get recent changes to DEX trade data since a given timestamp. Cost: $0.003 per query. Source: On-chain DEX analytics.
Get statistics about the DEX trading dataset: total trades, pairs tracked, chains and protocols covered, last updated. Free endpoint.
Output schemas not documented in tool definitions. Tools delegate to HTTP API via apiGet<T>(), but response structure (fields, types, nesting) is never formally declared. Agents cannot reason about downstream chaining or field availability.

Get recent alpha signals for traders and hedge funds. Signals include new 8-K filings, short interest spikes, new patent grants, new trademark filings, new litigation, and delinquent filers. Scans activity across all Verilex datasets over a configurable lookback period.
Parameter interdependencies not documented. For example, trader_signals accepts signal_types enum with values like 'new_8k', 'short_interest_spike', etc., but no description explains what signals are available or when each is relevant. Similarly, screen_companies filters on has_patents, has_trademarks, has_litigation without explaining which datasets provide each.
Error handling delegates entirely to backend. The apiGet() client wrapper checks response.ok and returns status, but tool descriptions do not guide LLMs on what to do if a query fails (e.g., retry, try an alternative tool, ask user for clarification). stalenessWarning() handles stale data but offers no recovery guidance.
Tool composition overlap in crypto domain. query_protocol_risk, query_network_stress, and query_cohort_critical all target DeFi risk. Descriptions do not explain when to call each (e.g., use query_network_stress for macro risk, query_protocol_risk for protocol-specific, query_cohort_critical for early warning on borrowers).
Stats tools (contract_stats, crypto_stats, dex_stats, econ_stats, holder_stats, label_stats) lack descriptions explaining what 'statistics' means. Are they row counts, date ranges, data freshness, or usage metrics? Vague descriptions reduce clarity on when to invoke discovery tools.
